Dates: July 28-August 4, 2014
Additional Challenges Met:
1/5 different time zones
1/5 trips with friends
1/5 involving water/snow
With Will finishing his Masters of Mathematical Teaching program (woot woot!) and me finishing up my Masters of Early Childhood Education courses for the summer, we had even MORE to celebrate than Will turning 30! Will met me in Victoria on July 28 and we spent a few days exploring more of this beautiful city and its surroundings. We hiked Mt Doug and a great trail in East Sooke park, and ate lots of delicious food!

We
then got ourselves packed and ready for backpacking with Adam and Kailyn in
Strathcona Provincial Park over the August long weekend. After a 5 hr drive up
island (yes, yes, this could count as 2 trips already, but we wanted to count the entire island as one trip), we hiked into Bedwell Lake, a gorgeous lake surrounded by forest
and mountains. The following day, we scrambled over rocks and hiked further
along a snow field to Cream Lake, which was framed by snowy Mt. Septimus and
many other mountains. We enjoyed swimming and lounging by our amazing waterside
campsite. We all loved our time in there, even after hiking the 7 hrs out
(almost all downhill!).

Ok, now I've realized that I might have a bigger challenge on my hands than travelling to 30 places... it is going to be sooo tough to pick just a few "favourite" pictures from these trips to post!
